 また,K.E.C.P.P.
Freedom of Expression in the Republic of Korea"では1987年7月7日,8月9日のThe Korean Heraldのレポートを紹介し,「1965年以降,韓国政府は830曲以上の歌,400近くの放送を禁止した」としています。
Revolution,Revolution 1, Revolution 9,Norwegian Wood,Magical Mystery Tour,I am the Warlus,A Day in the Life,Lucy in the Sky with Diamondsなどが一時禁止されていたようです。
Back in the U.S.S.R."

「Back In The U.S.S.R.」,「Rocky Raccoon」,「Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da 」,「Mother Nature’s Son」등에서 폴 매카트니는 여전히 활기차고 밝은 목소리로 노래하고 있지만그럼에도 이 앨범에 깔려 있는 건 그들의 깊은 회의감(Skepticism) 이다.
첫곡「Back In The U.S.S.R.」은 비치 보이스의 스타일을 도입해 만든 패로디 곡이고,폴 매카트니가 혼자 연주하고 노래한 「Why Don’t We Do It In The Road」는 롤링 스톤스를 흉내낸 곡이다.

 Google
'The Beatles', released in November 1968 as a double album in a white jacket without any pictures, is the most unique of the 13 Beatles' official albums. This album, which contains a total of 30 songs (28 songs are included as 'Revolution 1 and 'Revolution 9' are prohibited for domestic release), has so far been called the 'Beatles' rather than the individuality of each of the four people, John, Paul, George, and Ringo. This is because it is a work that completely deviated from their existing line, which emphasized the overall image of Groom and emphasized the unity of the album.
So, when it was first released, the album was criticized by many critics, saying, 'There is no Beatles-like resurgence, only distractions and chaos as if it were a collection of clutter'. Of course, it was a huge commercial success. It climbed to the top of the charts in the UK and the US at the same time, and in particular, it was successful, being number one on the Billboard album chart for 9 weeks. Nevertheless, for a while, the album was surrounded by 'without serious considerations for the money of the Apple Records company they established. The evaluation of 'a hastily released rubbish' was dominant (this is the first record released by Apple).
However, 20 years after their disbandment, ‘The Beatles’ is now ‘Sergeant Pepper’s Loneliness Club Band’ (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) is being re-evaluated as a masterpiece. Many journals, without exception, rank it in the top ten of the 'Best Album in Pop Music History', and even Beatles fanatics are establishing it as an album that showcased another greatness of the Beatles. In a good or bad sense, the record of 'Ecriture Blanche', which is called 'an album without a center' or 'an alienated album without the Beatles', that is a 'white album'.
In "Back In The USSR", "Rocky Raccoon", "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da", and "Mother Nature’s Son", Paul McCartney still sings with a lively and bright voice, but what lies beneath this album is their A deep sense of skepticism. Skepticism about rock music, about social situations, and above all, about the Beatles themselves, dominates this album, as you can see from the invisible jacket (this was the idea of the British avant-garde artist Richard Hamilton). All of the songs included put the values and individuality of each of the four people first, and in each song, the rest of the members only play the role of backup musicians.
In the baroque "Martha My Dear", Paul McCartney sings about his love for his dog, and in "Julia", John Lennon pursues a personal complex for his mother. In "Piggies" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (guitar by Eric Clapton), George Harrison takes a gloomy look at how his optimistic worldview is changing. Even Ringo Starr, who has been quietly playing drums for the first time, has announced his existence for the first time with “Don’t Pass Me By,” which he composed himself. It is through this album that preparations to stand alone after being scattered after 70 years have been made.
None of their albums have a record with so-called 'parody' characteristics so clearly. Parody is cynical rather than productive, hiding a side of aggression, if not necessarily 'blame'. Their deep skepticism is revealed here again.
The first song 「Back In The U.S.S.R.」 is a parody song that adopted the style of the Beach Boys, and 「Why Don’t We Do It In The Road」, performed and sung by Paul McCartney alone, is a song that mimics the Rolling Stones. Furthermore, in 「Glass Onion」, they are parodying themselves by collecting the lyrics of the Beatles' existing songs. At the same time, 「Sexy Sadie」 and 「Cry Baby Cry」 are explicit attacks on Maharishi Yogi and the British royal family, respectively, and 「I’m So Tired」 is a tired confession of John Lennon’s boredom towards the Beatles.
This skeptical attitude is directly connected to the word “revolution” that the young people around the world cried out in 1968. "Revolution 1", which John Lennon sang with a languid voice while lying on his desk in the studio, was a song about his skepticism about the revolution. is 'still' banned in Korea).
What was the background that brought the Beatles down to such a state of despair? Perhaps the biggest cause was the irreversible conflict between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The death of manager Brian Epstein, the succession of Paul McCartney to take the initiative, and the conflict within the group due to the appearance of Yoko Ono (John's "The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill, Birthday") and "Revolution 9" were recorded by her. ), troubles over the failure of the movie “Magical Mystery Tour,” the lawsuit between John and Paul over the ownership of the Beatles song, and a sense of betrayal towards Yogi Maharishi… … . In this gloomy situation, they already had a foreboding of the Beatles' 'end'. Considering that it was created in a short period of time (the album took less than 5 months to produce) under the management pressure of Apple Records amidst all these wounds, it must have been a natural result for this album to be distracting and schizophrenic. .
However, it was this poor situation that became the basis for making ‘White Album’ an alum among alums. They lost their unity as the Beatles, but instead provided them an opportunity to prove their genius inspiration. Although the production period was 5 months, most of the time, the members did not gather well, so only about 10 songs were made, and more songs were written and recorded in a hurry in the last 3 weeks. The ‘White Album’ was completed ‘in an instant’ by adding a few songs made in India to this. And each of the 30 songs included here was not inferior in any way to show off the power of the Beatles' heyday in terms of their musical perfection.
In this regard, I would like to call the ‘White Album’ the Beatles’ ‘Mozartian masterpiece’. While other albums are 'Beethoven masterpieces' that were completed through the process of revision and complementation according to perfect plans, this album is in the sense of being a jewel-like music created at once with genius intuition.
It's not easy to listen to two albums one after another. However, this album has the magic that makes it impossible not to listen to the first song from the last song in one sitting. In this regard, I think the 'White Album' is given a higher value with the passage of time.
‘White Album’ was definitely the start of Apple Records. But at the same time, it was also the beginning of the ‘end’. Seventeen months after this album was released, the Beatles were locked in history.
