フランス盤LPの第２回はLes Beatles N1 (Please Please Me)です。

　フランス盤デビューアルバムはタイトルがLes Beatles，英訳するとThe Beatles，内容はUKオリジナル盤のWith The Beatlesで，1963年に発売されました。Please Please MeはLes Beatles N1（The Beatles No.1）という名称で2枚目のアルバムとして翌1964年に発売されています。オリジナルはカタログナンバーがOSX-225なのですが，後発のLSO-103以降しか所有していません。ジャケットの表面と折り返しのみラミネート加工されています。

　ジャケット表面の中央上部にはODEONとEMIのロゴマークとカタログナンバーLSO-103が配置されています。

　上部には大きく白でNと１が記されており，Nの右下にはGeorge，１の上方からPaul，Ringo，Johnの顔写真が配置されています。それぞれの写真はジャケット裏面の写真から顔部分を切り出したものになっています。

　Nの文字の右下のGeorgeの顔の下にはソングリストが，その下には４人の頭文字GRJPが記されたbeetleの絵とタイトルのles Beatlesの文字が記されています。

　裏面は上下に折り返しがあります。

　上部にはソングリストが記載されており，その右にはODEONとEMIのロゴ及びカタログナンバーLSO-103 Ⓢが記されています。

　その下にはL'EXPRESS（1963年12月6日）のDANIELE HEYMANNによる記事が掲載されています。

L’ANGLETERRE perd la tête. Il ne s’agit pas cette fois-ci de secret d’Etat, d’espionnage ou de mœurs dissolues. Cependant, les émeutes suc­ cèdent aux émeutes, le Premier mi­nistre ne peut prendre son avion, le Haut Commandement de la Marine Nationale s’inquiète, la Reine-Mère réagit, le 《 Financial Times 》 prend parti. 
Que se passe-t-il ? 
Quatre jeunes garçons, 《 Les Beatles 》, chantent le twist et, guitare à la main, ont entrepris la grande croisade du Yé Yé. J’ai ouvert le lourd dossier des articles que leur consacre depuis un mois la presse anglaise !

 Daily Mirror : La 《 Ruffwood 》 《 compréhensive school 》 à Kirby (Lancashire), école de bonne réputation, change d’uniforme. Les jeunes filles ont dessiné elles-mêmes leur nouvelle tenue, fortement inspirée de celle des Beatles : chemise rayée, blazer sans revers. Les professeurs ont adopté à l’unanimité leur decision.

Daily Telegraph : les ouvrières d’une usine de Liverpool ont fait une grève d’une heure pour protester contre une décision de la Direction. Celle-ci avait coupé la radio, qui sert de fond sonore pendant le travail, au passage d’un disque des Beatles. 
Daily Mail : à la une en gros titre : 《Victime de la Beatle-mania 》, en sous-titre : 《 Un long hurlement a précédé le 《 Royal Show 》 : des centaines de policiers entouraient le Théâtre Prince de Galles à Lon­dres, une demi-heure avant l’arri­vée de la Reine-Mêre. de la Princesse Margaret et du 《 Earl of Snowdon 》 (Tony Amstrong Jones) : les Beatles étaient attendus. On entendit soudain un grand cri de détresse. Une jeune fille venait d’être piétinèe par la foule, elle avait une jambe cassée. La circulation était complète­ment bloquée autour de Leicester Square. La Reine-Mère a beaucoup apprécié la performance des Beatles.

Financial Times : les demandes de disques des Beatles sont tellement phénoménales qu’elles mobilisent toutes les ressources des 《 Electric and Musical Industries 》. Les usines travaillent à plein rendement pour satisfaire les commandes. En un an les Beatles ont complètement boule­versé les programmes de fabrication. Plus de 500.000 disques sont commandés avant même la sortie d’un nouvel enregistrement. Et l’on peut évaluer leur vente totale à plus de 2 millions d’exemplaires. Fantasti­que ! un pareil événement n’a jamais été observé dans tout le Royaume-Uni.
 Mais qui sont donc ces nouveaux Dieux ? Quatre garçons de Liverpool. Ils mesurent tous 1 m 80 et déclarent avec un ensemble touchant 《 aimer 》 les pommes de terre frites, les vêtements sombres, les jolies filles en général et Brigitte Bardot en particulier 》.

Refermons-Ià le dossier Beatles. Nous pourrons bientôt juger si l’enthousiasme qu’ils déchaînent est justifié. Bruno Coquatrix qui les a engagés à l’Olympia semble, pour sa part, doucement gagné par la Beatlemania. Il y a un mois, ces braves jeunes gens devaient passer en 《 vedette anglaise 》 (milieu de première partie). Il y a quinze jours, la place de 《 vedette américaine 》 (fin de première partie) leur était dévolue. Aux dernières nouvelles, les Beatles passent en vedette (fin de seconde partie).
